Their initial growth throughout the 1890s was focused on railroad workers’ need for durable and long lasting work overalls. Today, Carhartt clothing is not only found on construction sites, farms and ranches, and other job sites, but also on the streets worn by some seriously stylish people. The company has remained a family owned and operated business since day one, and continues to grow it's American roots.

Carhartt has built a reputation on triple seams, riveted stress points, and tightly woven duck canvas fabric that keeps the cold, as well as splinters, sharp edges and rusty nails, out.
